Prescription Drug Guide

Prescription drugs play an important role in good health care. North Dakota citizens should have the ability to choose to purchase prescription drugs from safe sources at the most competitive rates available.

On this site, the State of North Dakota offers three options that may help you find the prescription drugs you need at the lowest available cost.

First, the North Dakota Preferred Drug List has been established with the assistance of North Dakota pharmacists. This list provides generic and therapeutic alternatives to brand name drugs and gives you an estimate of the cost savings you may achieve by using them. These alternatives should be discussed with your prescribing doctor. If your doctor finds a generic alternative is appropriate for you, given your unique medical history, a prescription may be filled at any North Dakota pharmacy.

Second, the Prescription Connection is a program offered by the North Dakota Department of Insurance to help certain low income North Dakotans access discount programs offered by pharmaceutical companies. This link takes you directly to the Prescription Connection website.

Finally, if you are unable to use the first two options, a third option is to purchase your brand name drugs from a Canadian pharmacy. A Winnipeg pharmacy is listed for your consideration. It is licensed by the Province of Manitoba, and is certified by the Canadian International Pharmacy Association.

This information is provided so that North Dakota citizens may make informed choices when they purchase prescription drugs. Each option is completely voluntary.

I hope that this information helps you to obtain prescription drugs at prices you can afford.
