The workshops being offered are:

RUReady for Something New?
Take a walk through the newly developed RUReadyND.com lesson plans.  This workshop will help you and your students navigate through the tools available to them in Choices Explorer and Planner.  This workshop consists of a full day plus contact time with students to implement the lesson plans at your site.

RUReadyND.com 101
If you are new to RUReadyND.com or feel like you need a refresher course on the basics, this workshop is for you.  This will be a fast-paced overview of Choices Explorer, Choices Planner and testGEAR that will show you all aspects of the tools that are available to you in helping students plan and prepare for their future.

RUReady to Plan?
Customize courses for your school or district, have students create plans of study that are based on assessments and have them save their work to the Electronic Portfolio System (EPS).  What a difference that will make when you track a student’s progress and they not only have a solid academic plan based on their needs but leave school knowing that it will make a difference in their future.  This session will also provide some time for you to work with professional tools so you learn how to work with students through their portfolios and gather data for accountability purposes.  Optional:  To earn an additional 3 hours towards credit, participants can complete customization of plans of study for their site and submit to the instructor for approval.

It's a Brand New Game
You might be familiar with the Real Game but now it has gone digital!  It is played by students in Grade 7 or 8 and beyond in thousands of settings. With the Spin Game, Definitions Game, Wish List, What's My Line, After Work, Slice of Life, Reality Check, Realizing My Dream, and more accessible online 24/7, players have more fun, and they learn more. Preparation is easier for facilitators and less classroom or group time is required.

Environmental education, character education, civic and community links, essential workplace skills, and academic subject links are interwoven into the virtual community players create together in TRG 2.1. More than ever, players can vividly imagine and experience (through role-playing) the future they wish to create for themselves. They discover, for themselves, how important success in school (academic, personal and social) is to achieving their dreams. They become more intentional and purposeful in constructing their future. They become more engaged, responsible and environmentally-aware citizens.

RUReady for Improved Test Scores?
This workshop is designed for school teams (teachers, counselors, administrators, others) to develop a school implementation plan for testGEAR.  testGEAR® gives students the practice they need to reach their full potential on college entrance exams like the ACT™. This online learning system adapts to each student's needs by targeting their weaknesses and helping them to build necessary skills. As a result, students gain skills that help them in any test taking situation.  This is a three part workshop with three hours of classroom time to develop plans, 3 hours of student contact time in your home school and three more hours of classroom time to share successes and learn from each other.

Notes of Interest Related to Credit:

This school year, you will be able to earn one graduate credit for the course entitled NDCRN Academic & Career Planning Strategies 2009-10, T & L 900.
