Dental

Dental industry is a growth-industry with many opportunities in various career options. There are several program options to select from within the Dental category offered in North Dakota colleges, including Dental Assistant, Dental Hygiene and Pre-Dental. Students will be awarded an Associate in Science (AS) degree in Dental Assisting or Dental Hygiene. Pre-dental is a transfer program.

Dental Assisting

Dental Assistants work under the supervision of a dentist preparing patients for exams, taking x-rays, sterilizing equipment, and/or performing receptionist duties.

Dental Hygiene

Dental Hygienists work under the supervision of a dentist removing stains and deposits from teeth. They also take x-rays and perform other treatment services.

Pre-Dental

This is a transfer program to a dental program. Dentists are doctors who examine teeth and mouth tissues and diagnose and treat disease and abnormalities.
