Our Mission
The mission of the North Dakota Teacher Support System is to foster the capacity of teacher leaders
to build a system of support for effective teachers in every school in our state.
The ND Teacher Support System has mentored over 3,500 beginning teachers since 2010.
Approximately 78% of our teachers continue to teach in North Dakota today.
Since 2010, 158 school districts have participated in the Mentoring Program.

Signing up your 1st and 2nd year teachers in the NDTSS Mentoring Program allows the beginning teacher to be:
• More effective in the classroom
• More confident in their classroom management
• More satisfied with their career choice
AND
• Increases their retention in the field
What does it cost you? There is no cost for schools or districts. This is a program that is supported by state and federal funding to be able to offer equitable supports to all beginning teachers in our state.
What does the mentor receive? A leadership opportunity, training and a stipend each semester for completed requirements.
