Managers: Laws and Rules
Time Off to Vote
It is the policy of the state of North Dakota to encourage voting by all eligible voters at all statewide special, primary, or general elections.
When an employee's regular work schedule conflicts with the time when polls are open, appointing authorities are encouraged to establish a policy of granting employees time off from work to vote.
Appointing authorities should develop this policy in a manner which is the most equitable to all employees. The policy should be formalized in a written document.
