Direct Access Central Indexing Filings & Searches
Direct Access to the Central Indexing System will be down from 6:00 p.m. (CST) on December 30, 2011 until 8:00 a.m. (CST) on January 3, 2012 to remove the SSN/TIN fields from the UCC-1, UCC-3, MSL-1, MSL-2, and Tax Liens. These filings will no longer be searchable by SSN/TIN on public searches as well as UCC-11 searches. These changes are mandated by Senate Bill 2249 passed by the Sixty-second Legislative Assembly which is effective January 1, 2012.

You are able to do direct filings and searches if you can access the map of North Dakota.
Click on 'Direct Access Central Indexing Filings and Searches' on the Central Indexing Menu. You should now be at the North Dakota map.
A User ID and password will be issued for a fee. If you are not able to access the North Dakota map contact our office for assistance.

Central Indexing System Filings and Searches
North Dakota provides, for a fee, direct access for three types of searches: Public, UCC-11 (without certificate), and Farm Products.
Public Search
This is a limited online search. The search will provide name variations, type of filing and the location of the filing.
UCC-11 Information Listing
The UCC-11 search will provide the same information search that would be received if requested from any of the filing officers in North Dakota. The search will be faxed to the requesting party without the certificate signed by the filing officer. This is an information search only.
Farm Products Search
The Farm Products search is an online search that provides the same information that is on the monthly CDs and microfiche lists.
Filings
The filings that can be entered directly into the Central Notice System are UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) and CNS (Central Indexing System) filings.
UCC filings no longer have to be signed and CNS filings do not have to be signed if they are filed electronically.
If the original UCC or CNS filing was filed in the system in a specific filing office it can be amended by direct filing. The only stipulation is that when filing UCC-3 and CNS-3 direct credit must be given to the same filing office the original was filed in or given credit.
