2009 MSATA Conference - North Dakota
![]() |
Tough economic conditions require innovation and ingenuity! These times, while challenging, present an opportunity, too. This is true for states, our communities, our households, and even MSATA - the Midwest States Association of Tax Administrators. That's why this year’s annual MSATA meeting will be conducted in a “virtual” conference environment rather than the traditional face-to-face conference. While we will not be having our traditional, face-to-face meeting that we were planning for Fargo between August 16-18, we will be using those same days to conduct our "virtual" MSATA conference.
We’ve received a number of calls and emails asking for details on how an online virtual conference will function. We’ve put together a list of Questions and Answers in order to help participants, vendors, and sponsors get a better understanding of what to expect in a virtual conference.
We realize that the MSATA Annual Conference is a valuable conference and participants look forward to attending it each year. Our objective is to preserve this high-caliber, top quality conference through a “virtual” environment offered by Expos2. The goal is to offer an on-line environment that directly mirrors the in-person conference without compromising what's most important – connecting and communicating with presenters, peers, and vendors.
The technology tools that are available today provide an interactivity and connectivity that will enable us to create just that type of atmosphere through an on-line conference. In addition to being able to attend the conference at a substantial savings to your travel budget, you will still be able to get together with friends, meet colleagues, and visit with vendors through the virtual lounge and virtual exhibit hall.
We will continue to post updates to the conference on these pages, and details for registration will be coming soon. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Darrell Engen, 2009 MSATA Conference Coordinator, ndmsata@nd.gov or 701.239.7232.
I look forward to “seeing” you all at the 2009 MSATA Virtual Conference!
Sincerely
Cory Fong
Tax Commissioner
