40 Quarters provides verification of individuals who can be credited with forty qualifying quarters of employment. Data received as a result of any 40 Quarters interface search is owned by the Social Security Administration (SSA).

 

There is no age restriction on this data.

 

The following programs can search and use 40 Quarters data:

 

• CCAP

• Medicaid

• LIHEAP

• SNAP

• TANF

 

Data from this interface can be used for administration purposes of each program, which includes appeals and IPVs. The data may be used to verify the following:

 

• Forty Qualifying Quarters of Employment

 

If data received from this interface is inconsistent with the information provided by the household, the household needs to be referred to SSA to obtain verification. The household can be informed of what data was inconsistent but cannot be told the source of the information.

 

Data from this interface CAN be released to the applicant, participant, or authorized representative with a signed release. Data received from this interface MUST NOT be released to any agency or other individual in or out-of-state.
