LIVING THE GOOD LIFE
Being surrounded by wide open spaces can do a body good and ranked at #1, the North Dakota air is worth breathing in. That’s a big reason we enjoy spending time outdoors connecting to nature and other people. Maybe that’s why North Dakotans are living long, happy lives. (We’re the #4th happiest state in the nation).
Some say prevention is the best medicine and that’s a motto we’re sticking to in North Dakota. Recently ranked the 13th healthiest state in the nation, our Health and Human Services agencies are focused on prevention, whether that’s a laser focus on contemporary issues like addiction and depression or longstanding topics like immunizations and health education.
From our most vulnerable populations to the most robust, caring for our community is in our nature. Some things that we North Dakotans take for granted are the work of these agencies. We can be confident that the food we eat in restaurants is safe. Our children are immunized against many diseases that struck fear into the heart of every parent just a few decades ago. Our garbage is disposed of properly. We can do our jobs in smoke-free workplaces. That’s good living. That’s North Dakota.
