The North Dakota Department of Commerce announced today that the application window for the 2022 Main Street Tourism Outdoor Recreation Grant is now open until August 9.
The Main Street Tourism Outdoor Recreation Grant is designed to support new or expanding businesses that provide new outdoor recreation opportunities, improve visitor experiences, and have an emphasis on attracting visitors and visitor dollars to North Dakota communities.
“With the unprecedented growth in outdoor recreation, these grants will help North Dakota businesses and communities meet this increasing demand,” Commerce Tourism and Marketing Director Sara Otte Coleman said. “Many visitors and residents are looking for easy ways to enjoy our great outdoors and we hope these grants will support better access to outdoor experiences.”
The intent of this grant is to fund new projects capable of attracting visitors from outside of North Dakota for at least one overnight stay. New recreation opportunities, attractions and improvements funded would give the community and state additional experiences to entertain visitors and attract potential new residents.
The 2022 Main Street Tourism Outdoor Recreation Grant is a 2:1 matching grant program and all grant payments are made on a reimbursement basis. Eligible applicants may request up to $20,000 in funds.
