Gov. Doug Burgum and Lt. Gov. Brent Sanford today met with members of a Japanese business delegation to discuss opportunities for partnership and investment in North Dakota’s economy and advancing North Dakota’s carbon neutrality goal.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce announced today that the Innovation Technology Loan Fund (LIFT) Committee awarded $1.25 million to two North Dakota businesses for the month of August.

The Manitoba government has provided $7.5 million as its share of a capital infrastructure and facilities redevelopment plan at the International Peace Gardens (IPG) near Boissevain, matching funds provided by North Dakota’s government, Premier Brian Pallister and Gov. Doug Burgum announced today.

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced that nine grants have been awarded totaling $4.9 million to foster the growth of the bioscience industry in North Dakota.

Gov. Doug Burgum has directed all government agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff until sunset Monday, Aug. 30, and encourages North Dakotans to do the same at their homes and businesses, in honor and remembrance of the U.S. servicemembers and other victims killed in the terrorist attack on Thursday, Aug. 26, in Kabul, Afghanistan. 

Gov. Doug Burgum and Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced today that the North Dakota Emergency Commission has approved $2.5 million to reactivate the Emergency Feed Transportation Assistance Program to help reimburse a portion of hay transportation expenses for eligible livestock producers who have lost feed supplies due to drought.

Gov. Doug Burgum released the following statement today after the terrorist attacks at the Kabul airport in Afghanistan in which 12 U.S. servicemembers were killed and 15 were injured, according to the Pentagon. 

The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department (NDPRD) is soliciting applications for the FY21 Land and Water Conservation Fund starting Wednesday, September 1 through Thursday, September 30, 2021.  

The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) has partnered with agency KK Bold to develop an outreach effort for the citizens of North Dakota. This effort, referred to as the North Dakota COVID-19 Impact Wall, features a collection of stories about North Dakotans impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and will be promoted in a statewide campaign in the weeks to come.

Gov. Doug Burgum today issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approving the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for COVID-19 for ages 16 and up. The vaccine continues to be available under emergency use authorization for those ages 12 to 15.
