 The North Dakota Department of Commerce today announced that businesses experiencing or forecasting financial strain relating to the current novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic are highly encouraged to begin preparing a Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan application.  

In response to public efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus to vulnerable individuals, the North Dakota Department of Human Services is reminding individuals about available online services and is taking other measures to help support recommendations about social distancing.

The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) today confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 which are the first confirmed cases of community spread of the disease in North Dakota.

The outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) can be stressful for people and communities. The North Dakota Department of Human Services’ Behavioral Health Division is offering resources to support North Dakotans’ behavioral health during this time. Gov. Doug Burgum today announced that K-12 schools which were closed this week by executive order will not have to make up the instructional time later this school year.

The North Dakota Department of Human Services’ Behavioral Health Division is offering new resources to support parents and other adults in having conversations with children about the coronavirus (COVID-19) through its Parents Lead program. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) today announced that tours of the North Dakota State Capitol will be suspended for the remainder of March.

The Life Skills and Transition Center (LSTC) in Grafton announced visitor restrictions today to protect the health and well-being of individuals living at the state-operated, comprehensive support agency for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. No visitors will be allowed for the next 30 days. In addition, home visits by people served at LSTC have been canceled.

By executive order, Gov. Doug Burgum today ordered the closure of North Dakota K-12 schools in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 based on guidance from public school superintendents, medical experts and the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH).
