November marks Diabetes Awareness Month and Nov. 14 was World Diabetes Day. The North Dakota Diabetes Prevention and Control Program (NDDPCP) at the NDDoH is partnering with health systems, pharmacies and community-based organizations across the state to increase awareness and action around prediabetes and diabetes care.

Gov. Doug Burgum today signed legislation to provide an estimated $211 million in income tax relief over the next two years by eliminating the state income tax bill for approximately 300,000 North Dakota taxpayers and providing partial relief to another 200,000 taxpayers. The tax relief fulfills a major piece of the governor’s Accelerate ND plan for the Legislature’s special session, which adjourned today.

Doug Burgum today joined Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem in announcing that North Dakota has joined nine other states in a lawsuit challenging the Biden administration’s mandate that employers who receive funding through Medicare or Medicaid programs must require their employees to be vaccinated for COVID-19.
