From our peaceful prairies to our rugged, untamed badlands, our state is home to incredible outdoor recreation. Hike through breathtaking landscapes, fish in our renowned waters, camp beneath star-studded skies, or spend a relaxing day boating on one of our many lakes —there’s something here for every explorer. Beyond nature, our communities are bustling with new and unique restaurants, entertainment venues, and local events that make North Dakota as dynamic as it is welcoming.
North Dakota also offers remarkable attractions that you can’t find anywhere else and won’t want to miss. Wander through the awe-inspiring Theodore Roosevelt National Park, celebrate peace at the serene International Peace Garden, join thousands of cheering fans at UND hockey in Grand Forks, or dive into our state’s rich history at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. With 14 state parks and 10 scenic byways and backways, there’s always something interesting along the route.
