The 2021 Main Street ND Summit scheduled for Oct. 12 and pre-summit event on Oct. 11 will provide an in-depth and interactive learning experience centered around infrastructure, while also providing a one-of-a-kind networking opportunity for those attending. 

Pandemic-related job losses and other financial hardships have had a domino effect in households’ finances, impacting the ability to pay rent or mortgages, utilities and other household expenses. It has also increased household debt and placed a financial burden on many housing providers.

The North Dakota Public Service Commission’s Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) Program is being recognized by the federal Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement for a project completed near Noonan, N.D. The award is given annually to honor the highest quality projects across the nation to reclaim abandoned coal mines. This is the third award since 2016 that the North Dakota AML Program has received.

Gov. Doug Burgum today thanked General Counsel Leslie Bakken Oliver for her service to the Governor’s Office and the State of North Dakota after she announced her retirement pending the transition to a new general counsel.

Of that total, $21.4 million was from Legislative appropriations included in the Department of Water Resources’ (DWR) budget bill, House Bill 1020, and $74.5 million was from the infrastructure bonding bill, House Bill 1431.  The Commission voted to approve funding for several municipal and rural water supply, flood control, and general water projects across the state.

Gov. Doug Burgum issued the following statement today in response to the Biden administration’s statement suggesting OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) increase oil production to offset high fuel prices.

The North Dakota Water Commission today voted to set April 8, 2021, as the start date for eligible labor and material expenses that can be reimbursed through the state’s Drought Disaster Livestock Water Supply Program (DDLWSP).  In addition, the U.S. Drought Monitor released today shows the expansion of D3 (Extreme Drought) conditions into Richland County, making livestock producers in that county eligible for the DDLWSP.  As of today, all North Dakota counties are now eligible for assistance under the 2021 DDLWSP.

Gov. Doug Burgum today requested a presidential major disaster declaration for a series of storms in early June that caused overland flooding and produced damaging winds and hail, resulting in more than $2.3 million in damage to roads and other infrastructure. 

Gov. Doug Burgum today signed an executive order waiving hours of service restrictions for drivers of commercial vehicles transporting hay, water and livestock to help livestock producers battling extreme drought conditions across North Dakota.
