Gov. Doug Burgum today urged North Dakotans to take precautions to protect themselves and especially senior citizens and other populations who are particularly vulnerable to the coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

The 2020 Census is officially less than a month away.  By the middle of March, most everyone will have received information about how they can be counted.

Community leaders in North Dakota's oil patch areas are ramping up efforts to encourage census involvement, noting that population totals have a decade-long impact on federal funding.

The 2020 census is fast approaching, and organizers are employing a number of marketing ideas to put people at ease about participating in the once-per-decade tally of American households.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce hosted the first Occupational Licensing Reform (OLR) workgroup meeting on Feb. 26. 

As a subcommittee of the North Dakota Workforce Development Council, the OLR workgroup is a joint effort between the Executive and Legislative branches that consists of legislators and a cross-functional group of individuals who represent those affected by North Dakota’s occupational licensing framework. 

State and local leaders are gearing up for the 2020 census count. Starting the week of March 12th census forms will start arriving in mail boxes across the country. By April 1st every home should have received an invitation to participate in the count.

Gov. Doug Burgum is encouraging school, community and church bands, orchestras and choirs across North Dakota to apply to serve as the Governor’s Official State Band/Orchestra Program and Choral Program for 2020.
